Hexies?

One of our members, Carol, had a great program at our last meeting.

She showed us how to do paper piecing, specifically Hexies!

I think I am hooked!

Carol shared a pattern from Mickey Depre's book Pieced Hexies. She also has other books available and they can be found on her website (link is below), amazon.com or other sites on the Internet.

Mickey Depre shared this fabric site on her Facebook page: 5 Bucks a Yard. She discovered it while she was lecturing in Houston. Apparently, all fabric is $5 per yard!! I glanced at it and it is brand name fabric like Amy Butler and Riley Blake. I love their fabric!

If you have Facebook, Mickey Depre has great information. If that link doesn't work and you have Facebook, search for MDQuilts and that is her.

I also found her on Pinterest: Mickey Depre. She has some fabulous boards to follow! They are very inspirational! Below is one of the pictures from Pinterest featuring Mickey's patterns!

Hexagon variations. These are by Leslie Claypool from Lafayette, IN. Look like the designs from Mickey Depre's book

Mickey also has a website: Mickey Depre.

...and a blog!  Look at the pattern I found on her blog! Wow!!
